Description

A composition built around high-concentration ambroxan in the base, Dior’s Sauvage opens on bergamot and Sichuan pepper before geranium and vetiver develop over cedar and labdanum, for men.
About Dior Sauvage

Sauvage, launched in 2015, is built around ambroxan, a synthetic material derived from ambergris with a clean, woody-musky, slightly salty character. At high doses, ambroxan creates the strong, far-projecting trail that defines Sauvage’s performance. Bergamot and pepper provide the bright, sharp opening; Sichuan pepper adds a numbing, electric quality distinct from standard pepper.

Lavender contributes the herbal-aromatic quality that connects Sauvage to the fougere tradition; geranium adds a green, slightly rosy character to the heart. Vetiver and patchouli provide earthy depth; cedar and labdanum give woody-resinous structure. Ambroxan in the base is the dominant note that defines the composition’s character and longevity. Eight to twelve hours on skin.
